Who this is for

New wearers who want more freedom from glasses, and existing wearers who need the fit checked in person. Contact lenses sit on the eye. Uncertainty about comfort, handling or safety is a good reason to slow down, not to order a box and hope.

What the visit includes

Rosa examines, fits, and only then discusses replacement supply and solutions. Aftercare is part of the same relationship. A lens that is merely close enough is not enough. Comfort and suitability come before convenience.

Say you want contacts when you book so the hour can include fitting rather than squeezing it into a leftover minute. The examination is still the comprehensive visit, not a shorter retail screening.

What to bring

Current lenses and the case if you already wear them, plus your glasses. A previous script helps if you have one. Come with what you have.

Three steps

  1. Say you want contacts when you book. Dedicated time is reserved for the fitting.
  2. Examination and fitting. Comfort and suitability come before convenience.
  3. Supply and aftercare. Once the fit is settled, replacements and solutions can be discussed, and you know who to call if wearing time is uncomfortable.

Why fitting and aftercare matter

Contact lenses sit on the eye. Rosa examines and fits before any replacement supply, then aftercare stays with the same practice. Comfort and suitability come before convenience. If wearing time is uncomfortable, come back so the fit can be reviewed.

Private billing

We provide an invoice that you may submit to your medical aid, subject to the benefits available on your plan. Exact figures are given in the room. We do not publish a website price list.

When referral may be recommended

If the eyes are not suitable for contact lens wear, or if something needs a GP or a specialist, Rosa will say so.

What this hub covers

Questions before you book

Can I simply buy contact lenses?

No. An appropriate examination and fitting come first. Once the fit is settled, the practice can discuss replacement supply and solutions.

I have worn lenses before. Do I still need a fitting?

Tell Rosa when you book. Existing wearers still start with an in-person look at the fit. Bring current lenses, the case, and your glasses.

After a suitable fit

The aim is an appropriate lens you can wear with greater confidence. That is not a guaranteed outcome. Come back if wearing time is uncomfortable.
